Dear Kids,
I asked my website-reading friends about their dogs. These pictures and explanations are about their dogs.
…
Here are my two new puppies. They are 3 months old, so that is very young. The little black one just learned how to “shake hands” today. I have been trying to teach her that trick for only three days, so she is pretty smart. Her name is Simone-Sunisa. The other puppy’s name is Molly. Molly hasn’t learned to “shake” yet.
We try to train them each day. We work on “sit”, “down”, “Stay” “release”. It’s neat that they learn tricks but we mainly want them to be good citizens.
These pups are Australian Shepherds and that is a very active breed so it is important that the girls learn to listen to us.
The cat in the picture is named Bijou Lisette. She likes to play with the little black puppy.

Pepper is a 2-year-old Blue Heeler. His favorite thing is running in water with his human Harlow❤️

I love terriers, and dogs that have beards. This is my dog Jackpot. He is a 4-year-old Welsh Terrier.
…
This is Pete. He looks like the Little Rascals dog. He weighs 100 pounds but jumps up to sit in your lap because he thinks he is small! He also tries to catch rabbits by tracking their smell with his nose to the ground. The rabbits sit in plain view across the yard watching him. He does not catch them.
…
Here's my dog, Buster. He loves people! He also likes to dig. Can you tell? He's supposed to be all light yellow, but he was trying to follow a chipmunk down it's tunnel in the ground through some red Georgia clay.
…
Some facts about dogs:
- Scientists believe that dogs’ sense of smell is up to 100,000 times better than humans sense of smell! Can you even say that number?
- You should never feed a dog chocolate. Chocolate can make them very sick.
- Dogs noses are wet to absorb scent chemicals. They have mucus glands in their nose which absorb scent chemicals and gives dogs their amazing sense of smell.
The Great Dane is the tallest dog in the world. They can grow up to nearly 4 feet tall
The English mastiff is the heaviest dog in the world, it can weigh 200-230 pounds.
Scientists know that dogs have been companions to people for thousands of years. They think dogs were domesticated from wolves into dogs 20,000 to 40,000 years ago! Some people say that humans trained wild wolves to become dogs. Other people think maybe dogs trained wild people to become loving and faithful people!
