Around here it is day #9 of Len’s Terrific Cough. He's not deeply ill; his temperature and heart rate and all those things are fine. His grandfather (Leo the First) was a gruff old guy who would mutter, “It’s not the coughin’ that you’re coughin’ but the coffin they carry you off in.” Like that. Len’s seeing a doctor later today.

Dorian wrote this comment: Mary Beth, I love reading about your life and seeing your pictures AND seeing other people's pictures and having a small window into their lives is even better. Sort of like Facebook but without the ads. Plus, people you don't know but are interested in because they know you.

Every little kids says it. You said it when you were little. I said it.

“I can’t see! Lemme see!”

Remember when people would talk about something interesting visible to people over five feet tall? We youngsters would jump and push and whine and our souls were pummeled with despair until we could see the thing the tall people were seeing.

Spirituality is interesting. For most of us, it is the nebulous ought’s and ought-not’s handed to us by our families, churches, and culture we grew up in. It’s obeying sensible and weird rules about how to behave. Spirituality is given to us, often without our understanding how much of our sense of who we are is simply a passing along of lots of traditions and rules.

I have a lot of pictures; most are photographs Len or I took, but I also have an incredibly random collection of internet stuff saved over many years.

I’m feeling random today, so I’m sharing a few of them. There will be no rhyme or reason to this. Some days one just deals with what comes along.
